I am looking for a place to have business dinner with my customer, since they are staying at Ritz Carlton, the nearest I can find is a place in Pavilion. After some search, Morganfield’s is the place that I choose simply they have cool mobile app for booking. I have no idea how pack it will be, but it is worth to be sure to book the place. From the reviews, Morganfield’s famous with their pork ribs and alcohol drink, perfect place to bring my clients to dine in there.
We arrived at 7 PM, and to my surprise the place has a lot of empty space. It is Monday, so I guess it explain why not many people at this place. We had been usher to our table and the waiter explain about the menu and drink. I really like the way he explain what to choose for first time coming, and asking us wether we are big eater or normal. Turns out the portion is big so he suggest to order adequate dishes first, then if it is not enough we can easily add on later on.
Before we start our dining, we are given apron to wear, so that when we dine, the sauce does not stick to our clothes. My friend say it does look stupid and they are refusing to wear at first, but after I persuade them that this is appropriate to wear, then only they are wearing it.
Our first dish is cheese and nachos. It does look like normal nachos, with cheese and avocado. Big portion I would say, and generous serving of cheese and avocado. Crunchy nachos is kinda difficult to have. So yeah, it is good for our appetiser before our main dish.
This is our first main dish, Hickory BBQ spare ribs. Luckily I am ordering half ribs, as you can see the portion is big and comes with generous fries serving. I do really like the taste, and tenderness of the meat. Every part of the meat is infused with the sauce, plus they are able to maintain the juicy part of the meat. Bravo for the person who prepare this dish.
Our second main dish, Garlicky BBQ spare ribs. I like something spicy and tangy, well balance of garlic taste. Well, not that spicy to me, but my friend who can’t eat spicy he said it is taste spicy and he can enjoy it.
Overall, for Morganfield’s I personally give one star, the bbq part is well served, with outstanding balance of sauce and juicy of the meat. If they use good salt, I can say the taste will be significantly improved. The ribs coated with their bbq sauce heavily, giving no room of the original taste.
