I am looking for a place to have business dinner with my customer since they are staying at Ritz Carlton, the nearest I can find is a place in Pavilion. After some search, Morganfield’s is the place that I choose because they have a cool mobile app for booking. I have no idea how crowded it will be, but it is worth to be sure to book the place. From the reviews, Morganfield’s famous with their pork ribs and alcohol drink. It is a perfect place to bring my clients to dine in there.
We arrived at 7 PM, and to my surprise, the place has a lot of space. It is Monday, so I guess it explains why not many people at this place. We had ushered to our table, and the waiter tells the menu and drink. I like the way he explains what to choose for the first time coming, and asking us whether we are a big eater or regular. It turns out the portion is significant, so he suggests to order adequate dishes first, then if it is not enough, we can easily add on later on.
Before we start our dining, we are given apron to wear, so that when we dine, the sauce does not stick to our clothes. My friend says it does look stupid, and they are refusing to wear at first, but after I persuade them that this is appropriate to wear, then only they are wearing it.
Our first dish is cheese and nachos. It does look like ordinary nachos, with cheese and avocado. The significant portion I would say, and a generous serving of cheese and avocado. Crunchy nachos are somewhat challenging to have. So yeah, it is suitable for our appetizer before our main dish.
This is our first main dish, Hickory BBQ spare ribs. Luckily I am ordering half ribs, as you can see, the portion is significant and comes with large fries serving. I do like the taste and tenderness of the meat. Every part of the meat infused with the sauce, plus they can maintain the juicy part of the beef — Bravo for the person who prepares this dish.
Our second main dish, Garlicky BBQ spare ribs. I like something spicy and tangy, the excellent balance of garlic taste. Well, not that tasty to me, but my friend who can’t eat spicily he said it tastes spicy and he can enjoy it.
Overall, for Morganfield’s I give one star, the bbq part is well served, with an outstanding balance of sauce and juicy of the meat. If they use good salt, I can say the taste will be significantly improved. The ribs coated with their bbq sauce heavily, giving no room of the original flavor.
