I like Sekinchan (find my previous post about Heong Kee Bak Kut Teh and also Leisure Tea House) and this time I would like to share my experience having one of recommended seafood restaurant. Restaurant Bagan Sekinchan has build up their name in the past three years, and they are getting well known from their freshness of the ingredient and delicious seafood restaurant. It is no wonder that to dine in this place, you really need reservation or come way early before lunch time to secure a table or place for you to enjoy their cooking.
My wife and me love fresh seafood and dining in this place is wisest decision that we have ever made, even we come early to ensure that we have place to dine, even when we sit into table, I can see people keep coming to this restaurant and willing to wait for quite some time until they are able to sit.
This is the first dish that arrived in our table. cooked with ginger and soy sauce, with right amount of rice wine plus garlic, it create an unique taste in mouth and even we clean up the soup as it is really good with rice. I really like this dish as the amount of saltiness just nice, and of course the lala freshness really contribute a lot.
Our second dish, fish ball soup. What outstanding of the fishball is the fresh ingredient, the texture of the fishball really superb. I think it can rebound if I throw into table (one of the way to test the fish ball texture). Just the soup is slightly salty, beside that the onion leaf really makes this soup great.
I love this squid, to me this is the best dish that I ate in the restaurant. The way h0w they bring out the sweetness of red onion really shows how good their cooking skills. Most westerner might find it quite weird to eat this dish as it is like chewing rubber band, but trust me this dish absolutely must try.
I think my hand shacking when I take the picture above. It looks like just normal egg, but it is actually small prawn cooked with egg with chilli. The spiciness is just nice, without covering the whole taste of the dish, and the prawn still maintain their sweetness. Really bravo for the chef in the background preparing this dish.
Overall this place really worth one star, they freshness of ingredients are top notch, and the taste really good, in fact I am about to give this restaurant two stars, just that for the prawn and also fish ball noodle, they can do better to bring out better taste. Absolutely will come to this place again when I am visiting Sekinchan, and absolutely will add crab dish in the future.
