I know Chee Kong roast pork from my Ipoh local friend who loves roast pork. He keep mentioning this shop many times in order for me not to miss it when I go to Ipoh. I have very high criteria to rate roast pork. Skin must be crispy and meat part must be tender and juicy. No any sauce needed as great roast pork will have superb taste without any sauce anyway. Few times my friend mention about Chee Kong roast pork and few times I told him that it must be good for me to travel that far. Luckily, it is indeed as good as he describe.
It is about 11:20 PM when I arrive at the shop, and I can see there are many queue in the shop. Not to mention most of them are local (I spoke with few of them just to start conversation). From what I know, Ipoh people dislike long queue unless it is really worth to the taste.
When I see the picture above, woow, my saliva has drop. You can even choose the body parts, be it leg part or shoulder part. I ask the uncle to give me the best part for about 1 KG mixed meat. It is always best way to make friends with the hawker seller and polite, so you can get best part according to them.
Even after I do order and sit on my table, I can see the queue is getting longer. Not to mention few people taking large quantity order. I bet this place has become popular among local.
Enough for me to describe the shop, lets go to main topic. I love the golden color of the pork. This is what I called roasted to perfection. Ah, the picture is what I order actually. They give me the belly part and right shoulder part. My first bite of this, the juice is overflowing in my mouth. The skin is crispy and the herb taste is well balance.

Two stars for this shop is what they deserve. Chee Kong roast pork has become my favorite place to eat in Ipoh and I must come here whenever I am at Ipoh.
