Do you like something spicy but memorable taste during this weekend? Try to go to baba restaurant Lima Pulo at Chow Kit. I am bringing my special guest from Korea, Yoo Han, to come to taste Malaysian food and he and his wife really likes the place. They do really enjoy the food, and according to them, this place will be really memorable place. Good thing that I bring them to this lima pulo restaurant instead of other place.
When we arrive here, it is fully booked, and I politely ask them to give us very little space, and good thing they are able to arrange one small table for three of us to have our dinner there. Seriously I never imagine that this place is famous for locals and even international tourist.
The owner of lima pulo, uncle John, keep telling me that I have to order their special nasi lemak and also asam laksa, sadly the asam laksa is finished, so we only order curry noodle as replacement. I like the curry, the taste is strong and yet gentle to tongue. I believe the broth they use is outstanding. One tips to enjoy this to next level, squeeze limau into the soup, and it will enhance the taste of curry. This only can be achieve when you do have good curry soup, or else the limau taste will overshadow.
Here comes the nasi lemak. I never taste such nasi lemak before. They doing it really well for the rice, it’s smell nice, taste really thick, and their sambal is something that you need to order more. It cost more to add sambal, but it is worth it. I guess the secret lies in the right composition of pineapple juice. The Korean really enjoy this sambal, as their country is famous to make great sambal.
This is my favourite, curry chicken. I never bored with the taste of this. Good amount of potatoes and curry, goes well with rice and sambal. I even ate this with mixture of curry noodle and also nasi lemak. I know it is kinda of rojak (all mix), but still the curry chicken able to stand out among the taste. Ah, always order the upper tight part to taste best part. I know some prefer breast or tight, but personally to me upper tight is the golden part to taste together with curry. Not too think compare with breast, but tender enough.
Lastly, seal our great dinner with local delicacy, cendol and also sago. Sadly the speciality of uncle John has been taken out from the menu. I express the disappointment but well he must have personal reason not to put that in menu. Overall, it is worth to put two stars to lima pulo restaurant. The food will simply makes you to come here again.
